  • WELCOME BIRD PASSENGERS TO THE RHR FAMILY!

    birdpass

The team at Rocking Horse Road is proud to welcome indie-electronic trio Bird Passengers from the great state of California to the RHR roster! The band, comprised of Nate Dodge, Jonathan Jones and Caleb Loveless, have been successful with several songs featured on film/TV and have a growing fan base on Spotify and SoundCloud – exactly how we found these talented musicians. The band’s new single “Wanderer” has charted on Spotify, peaking at #10 on the Global Viral list.

Having released their second EP “Brave The Dark” in August of this year and their debut EP “Mountain To Cover” in August of 2015, these guys have been pumping out upbeat, get you out of your seat, fun electronic tracks embodying Stars, SOHN, Foster The People and more. They carry an unmistakeable positivity and passion for what they do in all their music which is one of the many reasons we’re currently obsessed with Bird Passengers – and why we’re sure you will be too!

Give ‘em a listen, fall in love and try to resist planning a trip to Cali to see these guys live.

  • Welcome Beauts to the RHR Family!

    Beauts

Halifax band Beauts are the latest to join RHR’s sync roster – and boy are we excited. We were introduced to the local noisemakers by a friend in the industry and are oh so glad because these guys rock. With their latest 4 song EP Waves/Wash having been released in June of this year – shortly before their performance at the inaugural Gridlock Festival –  we wanted to scoop these guys up asap. Drawing comparisons to rockers such as Japandroids and laying down powerful, guitar driven, get you up out of your seat tracks from start to finish, there’s no wonder we were impressed at first listen.

“Beauts’ songs are full of bittersweet hooks and shout-along choruses” and RHR couldn’t be more thrilled to have them on board – give them a listen, you’ll understand.

Have a listen to the second track off their EP ‘Ether’ below and check out the rest of Waves/Wash on their Bandcamp profile!

Sync Agency Rocking Horse Road Productions (RHR) is currently looking for additional representatives to help increase visibility and business opportunities in Los Angeles and New York.

Based in Nova Scotia, on Canada’s east coast, RHR represents a roster of 75+ artists – the majority of which are Atlantic Canadian artists – from a very vibrant scene and a relatively untapped market. These artists are mostly one-stops, and represent many genres, from your traditional fiddlers, to punk, indie dream pop, rap, EDM, rock, and much more.

We understand that you may also work with another company within the industry, or have your own roster or clients. Please ensure that it is ‘ok’ with your current employer / partner / team that you take on this new responsibility.

Our needs for successful representatives are below. To throw your name in the hat – please send an email outlining where you currently live, your experience in the sync industry, and why you think you’d be a nice fit with Rocking Horse Road to info (at) rockinghorseroad.ca

    The successful reps MUST:

    • Become fully familiar with the RHR roster, the clients’ catalogues, and the company’s vision and goals
    • Agree to commission based compensation
    • Attend events and meetings as needed (reimbursement / paid admission or fees must be pre-approved)
    • Have existing and extensive knowledge of the industry
    • Send any sync offers to head office for final approval and allow head office to take care of paperwork and payment processing
    • Sign a non-disclosure and / or non-compete agreement if required
    • Be able to work independently and be an excellent self starter

  • Happy 2016 from RHR!!

    Pop_the_Top_and_Celebrate

Wohoo! We come to the end of another year, making some fantastic new connections, signing wonderful new artists and creating some exciting partnerships. Now, moving in to our 4th year, we’re stoked to say that 2016 promises to be the biggest one yet. Rocking Horse Road Productions is having two new babies! Rocking Horse Road Publishing is rolling out this month, and there is another big project that we will be announcing in the spring.

This company could not exist without the support of our friends, our colleagues, and of course, our artists – so to all of you, have a happy new year and thank you for everything!

    xoxo, -JB

  • Thursday Track / Brag: Kim Harris

    NextBigThing-KimHarris_1229114155222_16x9_620x350

If you live around here, you love Kim Harris. You just do. Either her beautiful voice, or her 100% lovely personality, or her humour, or all of it. Kim Harris is part of the new East Coast music industry royalty. One whose smile can light up a whole building, let alone a room.

CBC Music just named Kim the Next Big Thing. The article which names her “the mightiest voice coming out of the East Coast” is a good read, and if you scroll down to the bottom, you can watch her channel Biggie. What can’t this woman do?

This week’s Thursday Track is ‘Oh Lion’ – filmed by Analogue Songs. Lovely lovely lovely lovely!! Agreed?

Happy holidays to you and yours from Rocking Horse Road Productions! To all of our friends, family, artists and clients, we wish you all the best this holiday season and for 2015!

We are ramping up our efforts again next year, with a bunch of conference trips planned and a new office set up. We can’t wait to make 2015 even better than 2014 – which was pretty stinkin’ great! Personally, as owner of RHR, I can’t tell you how much I love my job, this company and our work. To everyone who helps keep our doors open – THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart.

    Love, light, laughs.
